Claim your home and update your facts to help your Zestimate. I have seen homes that get updated with square footage, bedrooms, double garages and the price goes up. However, as said before, a Realtor or local appraiser will go to the local Multiple Listing Service to do a comparative market analysis on a home, we don't use 'zestimates' We compare what is currently on the market, what has recently sold etc. We can see inside a home where Zillow cannot and compare value that way. If you have had a home recently sell in your community at a low price, that sale is currently affecting your value.

If your home has a home details page, you can find it by going to the top of the page and clicking "homes." Then put in your address in the search bar at the top and search. If it is available it will open a map with a small box superimposed with your address.
If any details are inaccurate, you can claim your home and change those details. It will take quite some time, six to eight weeks, for the "zestimate" to update.
You can get several of these AVM or automated valuation models on the web, like eppraisal, homegain, and many others. They are typically not very accurate on homes that are unique at all, and only somewhat accurate on the others. But they are a starting point.

The self help Zestimate is a feature that is on hold right now for Zillow, however, if you have had a professional appraisal or a CMA done by a Realtor, you can put the results in the 'remarks' section including the date it was done (the date is important as appraisals basically are only good for the day they were done.Reason being, if a house sells done the street the day after an appraisal, well ,that sale affects the current market value.
Hope that helps.
