How do I obtain historical Zillow Home Value Index data to estimate my home's change in value?

Suppose I'd like to use the ZHVI to determine the likely change in my home's, or any home's, market price. A natural approach might be to compare today's ZHVI to the ZHVI for the relevant zip code or other segmented unit at the time the house was purchased and multiply this ratio by the purchase price. But, to do this, I'd need the ZHVI for the right location at the time of purchase. How would I obtain this?

You can start here with the market report for your area. You can also get information at the neighborhood level on your house page. Just enter the address at the top of the linked page above in the Find Homes box, hit the blue GO button and a map should come up with the house address. Click on that and look for the chart on the page. Click to see more charts and you will have historical data 1,5,10 years for that house, zip code, town, state and US. I am not sure from reading the question again if this info will help, but it can't hurt I guess :)
