Hello, Does anyone know how I can restrict zillow searches to my town alone?
I search under CAmbridge and Zillow keeps retrunignresults from all
surrounding towns, no matter what I do. Other than zooming in on the map,
shouldn't there be an easy search restricted to the town one wants?

Please, help in case I am missing something

Hi,

I'm sorry your having trouble with Zillow. Its a great place to begin a search, but not the only place you want to look. Try doing a search for your states MLS (multiple listing service). Also look at your local newspaper ads and craigslist.com ads, sometimes you can find a website more in tune to your area.

Hello. I do not think that you are missing anything. You can start with a zip code search to pull up a local area on Zillow, but zooming in with the map is what works best for me to target smaller local area. Maybe there is another to way to do it that's faster, but that's what I do. Many local MLS systems can target local areas by elementary, middle and high school areas so that might save you some time either through a local agent or an online MLS system if one is available for your area.

Zillow probably will eventually add filters similar to the #beds...; until then, you either need to be zoomed into the map and do multiple sections OR, manually filter using the "list" mode and scrolling down the list (since the city & zip now show), and using "right click" "open in new window" for the ones of interest so that when you close that window you are in the same spot on the list. I like to set a minimum of $15k for the price to filter out the bogus listings and sort by price lowest to highest. At 25 listings per page, you can manually filter the entire results list very quickly.
