How do the new FHA guidlines apply to a short sale due to divorce/medical condition?

Hi,

How does the new FHA guidelines apply to the following situation:

Shortsale due to divorce (cancer at the time also)

Payments behind at time of shortsale. (BoA would not work with us until we were behind)

It has been 2.5 years since the closing

Do the new rules apply to me? Or does it have to be a job loss?

Thank you for your help,

Maureen

No, you can still apply under the Extenuating Circumstance of a "Serious Medical Condition". That waiting period has been 1 year. The big C certainly qualifies.

Take care,
