How do we get more info on who owns a foreclosed home.

You have a foreclosed home on you website, and we are interested in it.  How do we find out who owns the home or who holds the deed to the property?

The address is 2914 stuart rd adkins, tx 78101.

Can you help us out in getting some more info on it?

Very strange... Zillow's home details page states it is a "foreclosure", and still owned by the lender... but the lender bought it at auction in 1999.  Surely it is not still REO.  Someone obviously bought it since, and the info posted is outdated.  Thus likely not for sale at all.

There is a "tax history" section on the home details page, and that has a link to the county website (above the tax data), and that indicates the present owner.  (One of the neighbors bought it).  The property is not for sale and not a foreclosure.

Too bad that many agents have not learned the format of the Zillow home details pages yet.

ask any realtor or lender to pull that information for you.

I would give you a website to go to but I'm not sure if thats allowed on zillow.

    Naima:

According to Zillow they specifically state that Zestimates in Texas are not accurate because real estate transactions are not publicized.

It appears that Zillow has expressed their opinion by deleting the name of the owner from Naima's post.     My  observation as an outsider over the years is that although Zillow shares many public details of homes, they don't share the owners names (even though they are public information).  This is true on the home details pages, as well as deleting names in the advice section.

I suspect the part of the Good Neighbor Policy that addresses the issue is "respect the privacy of your neighbors"

    Go Huskers.
You have taken up so much space going off topic attacking the original poster. There is a way you could express your thoughts without co-opting the question that won't detract from what you want to say.
In many states this information is public record.

One way is check the notices that are posted in the windows. They will say which bank the loan is in default with. Usually there are REO agents that get assigned properties from certain banks. Or you can call a local agent to ask a title officer which bank it is and trace it that way.

The information I provided is on the public records and acquired from CAD, accessible to the public and the general public DOES have access to it.  I couldn't post the link because of the HTML error but posted the info verbatim.

My understanding is that Texas does not even consider real estate transfers to be public information.

You should have directed the inquiry to the county where tax records are maintained and let the consumer go there to search.

    Naima,

Posting the owners mailing address of a property is completely offensive. Just because information is available to the public, that doesn't mean it should be disseminated on public forums. Agents are allowed easy, online access to this information based on their license. The general public does not have such access and posting this is outrageous! The property owners should sue you!
