How do we get you to change the square feet of our home? Your published amt is inaccurate.

We built this home and are the original owner so I know every sq ft in it.  It is a walk out finished on both floors.  We don't use the word basement as the footings below grade are only the front and a small wrap around.  The remaining 70% is above grade as would be a two-story.  The foundation is 1890sq ft with only a small mechancial room unfinished.  Previous real estate estimates this home at around 3400 sq.ft. not 1762 as you have listed.

Zillow doesn't price solely on square feet, it is only a portion of their complex equation.

Thanks. I think I'll leave Mr. tax assessor alone for now :-)  Let him think that.  I will take your other course of action.

By the way, I think pricing homes on sq ft is fine for barns but not for personal homes.  It's a real lazy way for real estate agents to use comparisons, in my humble opinion.

What does your local assessor report it for square feet?   That is most likely what Zillow is using.

But, you can claim your home on Zillow and edit the data.   To claim your home, hover the cursor over the "edit" on the home details page and chose "claim your home".     Next, hover cursor over "edit' and chose "edit home facts".

If you change it so it is different from assessor's records, please be prepared to justify it to potential buyers.
