Profile picture for bunny16
I submitted a bid for a hud home as owner occupied. I offered $510.00 more than they were asking. Still lost the bid. How do they choose who gets it.I went through a realtor we filled out all the paperwork. Submitted it with Deposit and proof of funds from bank. (ALL CASH) .  What went wrong?...

its a bidding process. highest bidder gets it. you areblind bidding in sense. best way I approach this is. in the offer say this

purchaser will pay1000 more than hidghest bid not to exceed whatever amount your comfortable with. that will help you land the property. The agent should be able to tell you the amount that it sold for once posted.

When you "bid" on a HUD house, like bidding at an auction, the highest bidder wins the bid.  Your agent should be able to tell you what the other bids are as soon as they are posted on the FirstPreston site.

HUD seems to be pricing their properties so well that multiple contracts are coming in.  Owner/occupants are bidding over the list price, sometimes quite a bit over the list price.  Someone else wrote a contract that netted HUD more than yours.
