@wetdawgs My apology for my mistake. I won't make it again. Hopefully the original poster can get the error corrected.

@Sean:
Welcome to Zillow. You may find it helpful to spend some time exploring the site. Zillow offers a lot of great information in the FAQs, as well as click buttons and learn what is there. The answer is rarely "e-mail customer service". That is a fine answer for when none of the tools work and no one on advice has an additional response.
While you are reading, please take time to read the Good Neighbor Policy (scroll down so you get to read the entire thing). A common error is to skip it and then get one's post edited by a moderator.
In addition, read my answer (earlier in the thread) for what really happened to the poor original poster's facts.

"I guess the best thing to do would be to email zillow and let them know of the mistake."
I disagree. The best thing to do would NOT be to email Zillow since that is unlikely to resolve the problem quickly. The best thing to do is to claim your home and edit the facts. That will immediately show the corrected information on your home page and resolve the problem.
Then if you want, you can double check with the assessor to make sure they have the correct public facts for your house so the correct information is sent to Zillow.

Hi Scubageo,
I sometimes wonder where they get the numbers myself. I guess the best thing to do would be to email zillow and let them know of the mistake. You can reference the county website page as an authority http://www.nccde.org/parc ... ey=220570 . I am sure they would be happy to correct the mistake. If you would like a complimentary Home Value Analysis to get a better picture of your homes value, please let me know. Good luck with getting the error corrected.

Interestingly, Zillow had the public facts correct but someone (not Zillow) has edited them to show the smaller square footage value.
How can you determine this? When you open the property details page, you can click on "more facts". A page will pop up showing "public facts" as well as "combined facts". Public facts are what Zillow has obtained from the public records. "combined facts" show what someone (not Zillow) manually has edited on the site.
Is it possible an agent has edited the facts incorrectly? Or, is it possible that the 4,200 is including the basement and in your area basements aren't called out as part of the square footage (this is the case in most areas of the US) so the agent edited to be more accurate?
What to do? You can claim your home and then edit the facts back to reflect what is in the public record.

You may claim your home on Zillow and edit the incorrect details, which may affect your Zestimate.
