Might wish to check out Zillows latest announcement/post about Zestimates
Potential Upcoming Changes to your Zestimate

1. Your Zestimate may be changing anyway

2. Untill Zillows claimed "improvements" are out there to see it's really kind of hard to give any honest response to can you change it or how or what data matters or or or

Thatsa my thought

My apologies - my response was inaccurate and misleading.

What I should have said is that while you can't change your Zestimate, you CAN edit your home's profile to change it's perceived value.

Again - the Zestimate is the starting point for the conversation about value!

A Zestimate is simply Zillow's opinion of value using data publicly available.   If there are errors in your home's data, you are welcome to claim your home and edit the data available for your home.  If you edit core data, such as home size, it may affect the Zestimate and changes will be reflected slowly over the next couple of months.   If it is simply a difference of opinion, please share your opinion in the "owner's estimate" section.  This will not replace the Zestimate but show the different opinions.

Sales history and tax history tend to reflect value of great views, great schools etc.     Sometimes people get bargains on home prices due to short sales, or foreclosures - this bargain will stick with the home's Zestimate for several years.

A Premier Agent claiming you can change the Zestimate needs to go back to school.

"You can change the Zestimate for your home by following a few simple steps!"

That is not correct. Owners can edit their home page, but very few of changes will result in a change in their Zestimate and no changes will make an immediate change in the Zestimate.

Zillow has more information available about the Zestimate that might help. Owners and agent cannot edit Zestimates. They don't work that way. They are only estimates.

You can change the Zestimate for your home by following a few simple steps!

To start off, log in to Zillow, find and claim your home as your own.

Once you've done that you can edit and modify the information that Zillow has collected about it. Once you claim your home, click on the tab with the arrow which will give you a drop-down menu including an option to Correct Facts and Photos.

REMEMBER, Zestimates are based on information available through public records and that information is only as accurate as the data-entry clerk!  I can't speak for everywhere, but the county I live in is NOT known for having tremendously accurate data!

Check the reported size, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, heat and AC, roof, etc, then go further and provide information about upgrades you have made since you purchased the home.  Those changes should effect your Zestimate.

You can give additional value to your home by providing some of the personalized information that makes the value of two identical homes different - if you're inclined, you can write a couple of paragraphs describing "What I Love About My Home" - there is a lot of information about each individual property that we Realtors call "hyper-local".  These details have a HUGE impact on the value of your home.

If you have a great view, a lovely lot, you're in a preferred school district or have great access to transportation - those are things that county tax records simply cannot reflect. Even details about your neighborhood "friendly neighbors who host great block parties" add value that, while it doesn't reflect in the actual ZESTIMATE, may be attractive to a homebuyer.

Remember, Zestimates are a STARTING POINT for talking about the value of your home. If nothing else, you can use them to point out how inaccurate they are (before your updates)

Potential buyers are attracted to personal descriptions and photos (YES, you can add photos too, Look at an inaccurate Zestimate as an opportunity to show your home at its absolute BEST!

If you need more info about how to update your zestimate, please feel free to contact me directly!  Sara

Zillow follows a set algorithm to arrive at those zestimates and it would be impossible to change them. However, if this is your house and you're worried the buyers might be confused, don't be. Realtors will always advise their buyers of the correct price.
