Short sale is a great opportunity for both buyers and homeowners alike. Homeowners will have a legal excuse to avoid foreclosure and buyers can have a great deal without spending too much money. But a lot of patience is needed because the process can be very long and somewhat complicated.

I do not know anyone who goes into a short sale who is "happy" to be dealing with it. Seriously, aside from the buyer getting a better deal, the whole process can be quite frustrating for buyers and sellers as they wait for banks to respond to offers. The seller has no control in the process, and buyers must exhibit a great deal of patience waiting for a response. That said, it does solve some problems for a seller, and is part of the market today. If you avoid short sales in this business, you will probably not be in the business this time next year. Bottom line, counsel the buyers and sellers to be patient, and the opportunity to close the sale will most likely present itself.

Short Sales lack predictability because we do not have all the information on which decisions are being based. There are many cooks in the pot, and the entire mixture can get a little salty for my tastes.

How many Real Estate Agents give legal advice? I will not do aShort Sale
again. It hurts the neighbor , and the only reason I see why to do one is the realtor gets paid. We as broker should do what is best for the community not just for our pockets. Most of the Short Sales I see are a scam. People need to pay there bills and not just walk away. Remember when you do a Short Sales you are hurting everyone. And maybe we should stop showing bank owned
