While one can look up the original amount borrowed in a number of sources, the current amount owed is not public (thank goodness).   What is your objective in the search?

You may look up the original note which is public record, but you certainly may not look up the current mortgage balance without a signature authorization from the current borrower on that mortgage.

Public Record can tell you how much and when a mortgage was given. You can't find mortgages on Zillow.
