How does Zillow determine when a house is purchased?

Zillow is showing that my home was purchased on 1/9/09, but this is not accurate.  I purchased my home in 8/08 and I have not refinanced or anything, so how could this happen?
Question refers to 700 S Moore Rd, East Ridge, TN 37412

Check county records. Maybe your county was backed up and that was the date it was entered in their database?
