How does Zillow get information about my tax records?

That information is public record and is easily accessible through muni or borough public websites. But Zillow also pulls in information on the neighborhood, so other homes' tax assessed values around you could affect that Zestimate.  Really, the only accurate way to find the current market value of a home is to review past sales in the last 6 months of like homes and adjust comparibles found.  If you would like, I'd be happy to do a Comparative Market Analysis for you.
