From a buying standpoint, Zillow is just a means to inform buyers of what homes have sold and what is available to purchase. Zillow is a great resource for both Realtors and the general public. However, not all the data is accurate. My clients often send me "listings" from Zillow and other websites that are incorrect because the house has already sold, has gone pending, or isn't for sale at all. The best way to search for a home for sale is to work with a local Realtor who has access to the MLS. A Realtor can set you up with a detailed search and can send you listings automatically when they become available.

Thanks,

Jason Walter

Find yourself an agent you think you'll be happy working with....you'll be spending a lot of time with them and you'll need to trust them to help you make one of the biggest financial decisions you're likely to make in life.  Plenty of great agents on Zillow...talk to a few of them to find the agent for you!

As said by other agents, always when possible use an agent that is not involved with the property. This way you get non-biased information and the full capability of negotiation.

It is always a good idea to work with a Buyer's Agent, so you may want to select an agent who has good experience, who is caring, patient, willing to spend time helping you find just the right property and guide you through the purchase process, someone who has been around the block a few times and knows some oof the road-blocks that can come up and understands how to overcome these little stumbling blocks.  A Buyer's Agent can be a huge help to you in the buying process as he or she can legally represent your buying interests.

Annett is correct.  You are best represented by a "buyers" agent that has nothing to do with the listing agent.  While California allows agents to represent both buyers and sellers with proper disclosures, in truth, it is impossible for any human being to effectively fulfill their fiduciary responsibility to the two opposing sides of a single transaction.

To speak with a motivated "buyers" agent, just contact one of the three Premier Agents listed to the right of the listing!  One of them will be able to act on your behalf alone.

If you are a buyer and looking to buy a home never call the listing agent. They have a contractual and a fiduciary obligation to the seller. Search for a real estate professional who will represent you and your interest. You can google the agents name and if they have the knowledge. You should find a lot information about them online. If you can not find articles, information or any other content about them move on to the next one.

It is in your best interest that you have your own representation as a buyer.

Zillow is not a real estate company, but a place where agents or owners can post property listings.    If you find a property of interest, you can find the listing agent either on the right or at the bottom of the home details page.   However, you may wish to consider whether or not you wish to engage the services of an agent to assist you and represent you rather than getting the listing agent involved so they represent both the seller and the buyer.   That can cause some conflicts.

Good luck!

To ask questions about a property, write the Listing Agent listed to to the right of the listing.
