How far "Behind" is Zillow typically?

I purchased a property and three weeks later, Zillow showed the selling realtor putting the property back up for sale?
Is there a built in lag in your information.

Hi Jeffrey -

We can only remove the posting on Zillow temporarily. But if the listing originates from a feed where we don't have control nor access to, the property/posting will need to be removed from their system first before it can be permanently removed from Zillow. You may follow wetdawgs suggestion to locate the source of the listing so you can request them to remove the posting from their end.

If you have questions, please let us know.

Thank you.

As I have observed, property listings syndication data vary by the source of the feed.  In some cases, changes in listing status (including pending and SOLD) as well as price reductions are not reflected without agent intervention, while others are fed directly from an MLS source and listings reflect current pricing and no longer appear once they go pending.  Its tricky for both buyer AND agent as there are hundreds of syndication partners with varied information.

It's a not live information feed, it may take a long time.

Zillow's data are only as good as the agents, FSBOs and other sources of information.

If you purchased a property and then it popped back up for sale, usually the issue is that the selling agent has not removed the listing from all the data feeds.   Open your property details page, scroll to the bottom, click on "listing source" and then contact the agent mentioned in the listing source asking/demanding that it get removed.  Once they've removed it, it can be up to 72 h until it clears from Zillow.
