How long does it take for HUD to list a home on their website?

We have been looking at a home for several months now. Wells Fargo had the home, but said it is now owned by HUD. Would we get anywhere faster by having a Real Estate Agent check into it?

Hi Molly,

Go to the HUD website (www.hudhomestore.com) and click find a broker.  That should help.  I'd suggest speaking with a few to see how many HUD homes they deal with.  You would want an experience agent that knows the in & outs of HUD deals, as they are their own animal of sorts.

Ok, thanks! We really want to purchase the house and it seems like HUD doesn't get in any hurry to sale it! Where can I find a listing for a HUD approved agent in South Georgia?

All foreclosures, including HUD are hard to determine when they'll actually "hit" the market.  Many factors come into play (title issues, marketing issues, etc) to the time frame that a home is available to market.

Only HUD approved agents can submit offers on HUD homes.  You can watch the HUD website (hudhomestore.com) for the property, they update on Fridays or contact a HUD approved agent in your area to watch for you.

Best of luck.
