Some features such as square footage, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, location and lot size are used in the Zestimate.  If one (or more) of these is changed, then it tends to take a few weeks to a few months to appear in the Zestimate.

If one has done upgrades (new roof, spiffy new kitchen, landscaping etc), these features are reflected in the "owner's estimate" but are not part of the Zestimate.  So, if these are the only changes they won't affect the Zestimate.

Define "home upgrades."  Most upgrades Zillow does not take into account in its Zestimate.  It'd have to be something like you added an addition onto the house.  In that case, Zillow would update sometime after you reported it to your tax assessor.
