If it is a normal home sale and you as the buyer are getting financing on the home, it typically takes anywhere from 21 to 45 days to close on a home.  If it is a short sale, it could take forever.  If it is a foreclosure and the title work is in order with the bank, it should not take any longer to close than a normal home sale.

It depends on whether you are paying cash with no contingencies, or if you are buying with a mortgage with contingencies.   It also depends on whether or not it is a short sale or foreclosure.
