I've reposted the question to be a little more clear. Instead of data points, lets say houses. How many houses does zillow use to calculate a median? For example, Zillow posts the median sale price per square foot for a location. How many data points (houses) are used to determine the median. My point being, I can calculate the median of three data points (houses), but a median of 3000 data points (houses) is a much more representative sample which creates a clearer picture of the market and therefore allows the buyer to make a more informed decision. Thanks for your help.

How many data points are typically needed before Zillow posts a calculation?
