The Barrington Illinois market can include Barrington Hills, South Barrington, North Barrington, Tower Lakes, Timber Lakes, Port Barrington, Deer Park and Lake Barrington. Each one has a distinct flavor, pricing and special features. Most of the area goes to school district #220, but not all. It is located in 4 counties and covers a huge area, known for its natural beauty.

In 2010, 105 single family residences sold in Barrington. Prices ranged from $32,900 to $675,000 (this includes some mobile homes); the average days on market was 101.
So far in 2011, 17 have sold; ranging in price from $40,000 to $427,500 with average days on market of 146.
