You do indeed want to have a local Realtor do a market analysis on your house based on recently SOLD homes in your area.
Zillow's zestimate are not accurate at all for TX because it's a non disclosure state and sales prices are not published, only loan amounts are. It does work pretty for many other states though.

the best way to find out the value of your home is to get in touch with a relator and have them pull up similar comps in your neighborhood. Also, if you want to avoid this, you can use your own judgement and talk around the neighborhood and find out what homes in a mile radius from yours is selling for---that is similar in size and features. Zillow is pretty accurate is determining a guessimate though. :)
