Try Credit Union in your area. I am looking for portfolio lenders and currently yesterday I had an appointment with one of the Credit Union personnel. However, I would like to compare rates. If you know anyone let me know.

I'm also looking for a portfolio lender. I have 10 single family home investment properties, each financed. So I cannot get any more loans under Fannie Mae guidelines. Anyone know a lender who will do property number 11?

sbreau, why do you think you need a portfolio lender, for what purpose? Do you have a $10 million dollar loan?
Epost, why do you need one? If both of you described your scenarios then someone here could possibly direct you to a lender. Also be sure to say what state the property is in.

I am also looking for one. Did you ever find one? If so, please share what you found. I just read at one website that "some of the largest portfolio lenders include Countrywide, Washington Mutual, and Wells Fargo." (I read this at http://www.thetruthaboutmortgage.com/use-portfolio-lenders-for-hard-to-close-mortgage-deals/).

What type of portfolio loan are you looking for? What is the reason you're looking for a portfolio lender?
Other than guaranteed servicing, there isn't much a reason to look for portfolio lenders unless it's a specific scenario you know you need a portfolio lender for. They are usually so specialized that asking for a lender for a specific scenario makes more sense than just calling all portfolio lenders out there.
Also, which state is the loan for?

Honestly, there are very few portfolio lenders today. Most lenders do not have the liquidity to hold loans on their books (a generalization) so they will sell to Fannie/Freddie/other investors. But there are some that still do hold loans and service them, such as Wells, US Bank, and some others.
Find a broker in your area who can direct you to a portfolio lender.
