How to find foreclosure date to use when reapplying for an FHA loan.

My foreclosure sale date was April 2011, we have been pre approved for a new loan, but was told we could not start until July 2015, because that marks the 3 year waiting period. Our lender stated that the 3 year waiting period starts as soon as the home was sold or something. He told us the 3 year end was july 2015, instead of April 2014. We are going to try the new FHA back to work program, as the cause of the loss was due to job. I don't understand how the dates following foreclosre work, the sale date was April 2011, so why is the lender telling me July 2012?

The rule is 3 years from the Date of Completion.

You said your date was April of 2011, do you have a document that would support that? I can help you decipher that detail to determine if your lender is making a mistake or not.

Doesn't hurt to try!
