The way to correct square footage is to claim your home (under "edit" on the property details page), then use "edit home facts". Garage square footage is not included in the square footage, so the total should be about 2400. Basements are usually not included either, but called out separately (not knowning your home, I don't know if this is the case for your home).
Sometimes builders file with the county offices one number and then modify the plans slightly. The permanent solution is to make sure the county records are accurate.
