How to get foreclosures?

I am looking for properties on zillow, and many of them are foreclosures and are provided by foreclosure.com. I don't want to subscribe to foreclosure.com and my real estate agent says that those properties aren't on the market yet.
What can I do?

There are other websites, namely Realtytrac.com. Also has a fee though. Any local agent can assist you in your research. Good luck.

Have your Realtor set you up in a Hotsheet so they can notify you right away when a foreclosure that fits your criteria comes on the market.

When the banks are ready to sell their foreclosed homes, they will list them with an agent that works for them.  They don't flood the market with them all at once because it affects property values.  That agent will put the homes on your local MLS where your agent can search for them for you.  I've found many sites with inaccuracies that weren't directly maintained by the listing agents.

Foreclosure.com is indeed a bother.  Talk to your agent on how to get timely access to foreclosure info in your neighborhood without paying.
