How to purchase using FHA loan using combined income but using my better credit?

Profile picture for Cindylou67
We would like to buy a house in 6 -9 mos in 77573 area. FHA loan with 8 -10 % down. We want to use the combined income but not use my DH credit since mine is over 700. I also carry all of the other debt: 3 cc, 2 cars and a leased condo. Your help in this process is greatly appreciated.

I tend to agree with Naimi.  Best to start working with local lender who can look at the specific situation.  A good lender can look at a poor score and tell you what moves to make to get it to 620-640.  We have seen some clients improve scores rapidly by cleaning up past issues still on credit report.  The fact yours is very high helps.  Contact us if you would like one of our preferred local lenders in League City area

Sincerely,
Angelica

You would have to qualify by yourself on your own income alone if you don't want to use his credit.  The good thing is that you have 6-9 months to work on his credit score to bring it up.
