I wonder what the break down is, perhaps the email will say, like on ebay it is based on how many transactions.
As I requested "no Email", I didn't get the E-mail, but my profile states I'm an all-star too. But my old profile does not, so it must have something to do with recent contributions.
Actually, I didn't check the E-mail correctly; I got the E-mail too. There is a link explaining how they are awarded, but not specifics of the point system.
It does state that if one is "inactive" one will not be consider an all-star, but that adding content can easily change inactive status to active, and that all star status is calculated each day.
But it also states the "badge" will be visiable where ever our user name is visible, and it doesn't seem to be, thus it appears that we need to do the beta testing and feedback for them again.
Maybe it's just visible if the person starts a thread?

We're going to keep the mystery about what goes into becoming an All-Star. Some people have so much fun gaming the system...
If you hover over your name, you'll see your blue ribbon in the "bubble" no matter where you are on the site. We didn't show the blue ribbon everywhere your name appears. Sometimes it just made the page cluttered and difficult to read. But the bubble should be with you always.
However, we did introduce a bug you've identified: it should be showing on a thread and it isn't. We'll get that fixed soon.

Thanks very much Zillow. It couldn't have happened without the whole team's effort. I want to thank alll the musicians who provided the music in the background as I posted. Most importantly I couldn't have done it without the understanding and support of my family. Mrs. Rockinblu's encouraging words of "No not now. Why don't you go Zillow or something" was a wonderful source of strength. Also my sponsor, Shiner Bock beer, kept me going during posts that went on into the late hours.
