We enjoy very reasonable property taxes in Tennessee. Here's an example, though each county sets their own rates...most are about the same as this.

In Williamson County, just south of Nashville, if a home has a tax appraisal value of $227,000, the assessment amount is 25% of that, or $56,750. The taxes are applied to the assessment amount. The county tax rate is $2.20 per hundred dollars of the assessment amount, or $1248.50. If the home is in an urban area it may be subject to additional taxes, however those are lesser amounts than the county amount.

Most of our buyers coming from other states are thrilled by our low property taxes...some can end up purchasing a home much more expensive than they anticipated because the tax portion of their payment is so low.

Hope that helps!
