it depends on what the person buying wants to do with it. from my experience builders want at least 50 feet of frontage, but of course that depends on municipal regulations

I have seen many 25x60 in Hollywood Hills and they look pretty good with modern design. The surrounding and location is a value predicting factor on such home. Resale value is not going to be the same as the ones larger in width however the resale value won't be dramatically lower either. That is of course if they have the same square footage, bed+bath count, lot size etc...

It will have a lot to do with the location of the home.
What is the neighborhood like?
What are the homes sizes in the neighborhood?
What is the size of the lot?
What are the homes in the area selling for?
How many bedrooms?
The demensions alone shouldn't effect the resale value.

Do you know why there aren't many 26'x60' homes available. That's right...no one wants them. You might find more interest if this was a townhouse but if it's a regularly constructed house, then I suspect that there would not be much demand for it. I am not a real estate pro like the others but I have been buying and selling real estate since 1964 and I avoid homes that are unusual. For example, your "shotgun" house which I refer to as a sphagetti house. I also avoid logcabin homes, geodesic dome homes, hay bale homes, etc.
You are about to commit tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars on a house--you should give yourself every chance to be able to re-sell it at a profit. I think you are minimizing those chances with such a house. Whatever you decide, Good Luck.

It sounds like there is nothing particularily negative about the orientation of the home, and if you are buying it as a primary residence I am not sure why the orientation or the width of 26' toward the front would effect the future sale price much at all, if any. Good luck! Jim,HSOA.

Market and/or resale value isn't determined by the outside dimensions of the structure. It's based on square footage, # of bedrooms/baths, year built, condition, lot size, amenities, etc., relative to the value of comparable houses in the immediate vicinity.
Is this a mobile home by any chance?

What's your definition of "good resale value?" And, after how many years? .... Happy funding, Rudi
I'm interested in a home that is 26' wide & 60' long; 26' faces the front. Will it have good resale
