This house has been empty for a few yrs now. The couple that owned it lost it in forclosure (I believe). I've contacted our courthouse to see about getting some info about the house but they can't seem to help me. I'm very interested in purchasing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

Property ownership is part of the public record, I don't understand why the courthouse wouldn't help you.  Try the tax assessor's office.  We look up tax records all the time on line.  The websites usually ask for the owner's name, or property address, or legal description.

Give me the address and I can see what might pop up. The foreclosure process can take 1-2 years, but more than that would be a bit unusual.
