I'm looking for a CHEAP home in the Pasadena, CA area. Why would a Real Estate agent help me

to get a low price, when they want a big commission?
Wouldn't it hurt their comm. to get me a low purchase?

By the way; Realtors that specialize in "starter homes" tend to try to make up for the lower commission by knowing their market well and helping a larger volume of clients.

I know many very good realtors that would be happy to help in Pasadena.  There are some that I just E-mail with a question, and they E-mail me back, even though I'm not buying nor selling.  There are many that I can call with a question any time, and they often know the answer, or can look it up.  There are some I've know for well over 40 years.

But cheep homes in Pasadena?  The bubble is still deflating.  I think you will need to wait, or perhaps buy in Altadena, Highland Park, Alhambra, or San Gabriel.

I would not recommend the house I just looked at just off of Figueroa Blvd just south of the Mount Washington area.

You should have bought in 2001; there were some really good choices in Pasadena at that time, before the bubble blew the prices up.

Why would an agent NOT help you? you are thinking way to much into this. Yes we get paid on commission but if i (we) do not do everything we can to help you, will i hear from you in 8 years when you are ready to sell? or get referrals from you. If  i do not give you the best service i can and make sure you are happy every step of the way then i bet i will never hear from you again. I run a business  and Customer satisfaction is the number one thing that keeps my paycheck coming in. that's the way i feel about it and im very confident that you can call a few Realtors and find someone to go to work for you.

                 Best Regards,
