Both Cheryl and Rita have some good advice. Depending on the degree of the disability there may be programs or at least a way to lower your taxes. Some of it will depend on where you are looking to purchase. Speak to a lender also to see what programs are in place.

Sounds like Rita has some great advise for you. You can also try google to see if there are programs for your situation. Just ask it the question and see where the answers take you. I do think Rita has some good suggestions though

There are options available to you, with or without your wife's disability. If you are planning on staying in the same area, RHS (Rural Housing) may be available to you. Otherwise, KHC (KY Housing Corp.) or if you are moving into the Louisville Metro area there may be monies available through city programs.
Whether or not the disability will be considered depends on the criteria of the program.
As always, your household income and credit history are factors with any programs.
Your Realtor should be able to guide you through the process.
I hope this helps.

It will depend on your income level and several other factors (such as the nature of the disability and whether a veteran..)
I would check with your local housing department government office. They keep track of most programs and would be able to match you up with any that might apply. In some cases, there are waiting lists, but the housing office would have that information too.

I'm looking to buy our first home and my wife is on disability. Is there any special programs for us
