We live out of state and only spend 1 week a year there to visit family that's left. Should I rent it? Sell it? It needs to have the water turned on (been off for 4 years NOT by our request) so we camp out there  :0), a gas and/or water meter, a new stove, a minor toilet leak fixed, painted or vinyl, not sure of roof, but a home we love that I grew up in during the 50's and 60's. It has a park there and boat launch. We pay someone from our home out of state to do the lawn mowing and pay for the electric to have it on. It has good schools in Forward Twp. across from the town of Monongahela? Two neighbors were trying to steal it for only $15,000-20,000!!! Any advice? Land and home appraised at $43-46,000 that we pay all taxes on.

Sounds like a mill stone around the neck for using 1 week per year.   I expect you could rent a pretty spiffy hotel room for the same costs.

I'd rent it or sell it, but if you love it and enjoy that one week a year, emotions may win over price.
