If you have moved here and your husband is in the same line of work and has minimal gaps in employment you should have no problems obtaining a mortgage. This is normally the case for salaried employees. If he is working in a position that relies on commission or a contract position, normally the income is based on two years of averaged income. Please contact a qualified lender for any additional questions. Good luck to you.

If your husband is employed in the same line of work and has not had a "gap" in employment, you can finance now, assuming credit and income is in line.  Lenders want approximately two years of continuous employment.

Most lenders want to see 2 years recent work history. However, nowadays many people change jobs more often than they did in the past so lenders may accept recent jobs which were in the same field.  Find a local lender with a good reputation for service and closing on time to ask.
