I would have to disagree with you on a couple of points. The offer was to help perform a service for this gentleman completely for free. I have provided several CMA's to past friends, clients and anyone who has asked. They are very useful in Texas to have when appearing before an appraisal board. It is not logical to suggest that someone spend over $400 for an appraisal to get a tax reduction that could easily be much less than the cost for the appraisal.

Andra, I am not sure why you would respond to this question that is 3 months old and willingly violate Zillow's Good Neighbor policy which states no spam or self-promotion right below the answer box.
Also, for contesting taxes, although a cma would be fine as one tool to use for estimated market value,it doesn't hold nearly as much weight as a paid appraisal does before a tax board.
