Donna, hello from Pennsylvania!  You can search by zip code, town, state or key words/topics.

Listings are loaded to Zillow through local multi-list entitities. Typically, they are updated witin 24 hours of a price reduction or status change

Zillow also gives information on average sales prices of homes in various commmunities. In that way, you can get a more clear idea of what you can afford in certain neighborhoods.  Upon clicking onto the listing, you will find descriptions of the home, photos, and typically some contact information.

Once you find some listings or a particular community of interest, make contact with a local REALTOR who can walk you through the next steps.

Well Zillow allows you to search for properties that's for sale in your area or elsewhere and also let's you locate local professionals in your area such as realtors and mortgage brokers/bankers... Hope this helps!  Good luck on finding your new home!
