Hi Julie,

I currently have a 1 acre lot in Bowie, MD for only $99,900!

I know, you don't want Bowie. But keep in mind, in Potomac, land goes for a premium. A 1 acre lot in Potomac runs between $500,000 to $1,000,000 depending on the location in Potomac.

With what you are doing, you have a couple of choices. Most people want to just buy land and develop what they want on it. Realistically, in the areas you are looking there are not a lot of choices. In some cases you are better off finding a tear-down and building on the lot after demolition. Or you may be able to use the foundation and build from there and save more money than if you bought just land that has no sewer, water, electric, gas, etc.

I can help you with your needs as I am based in Potomac and service Montgomery County. I have experience with land, so I could be a great fit to help you find the perfect place. On top of that, I have a 11 week old puppy!

Hi Julie, obviously, all three areas charge quite a hefty premium for land, and I think Rockville, heading north toward Gaithersburg, might be your best bet for both availability and being less costly.
Your next step would be to check zoning as previously mentioned so you know the legality in each jurisdiction for your business ventures from home.

Once you find your spot and check zoning, do not forget about a potential HOA restriction for in home businesses. HOA's can overlay zoning, and be even more restrictive....

I agree. Definitely want to be aware of zoning requirements. If you are looking for a real estate agent, please let me know. I can refer you to some real estate agents in Potomac Maryland.
