My previous posting helps you to find the trends and average sales in the neighbourhood.
For comps, you will want to see the list of homes that are sold within the last three month, a list of pending sales, and the currently active homes to get a complete view of the current market trend in your neighbourhood of interest. You can find the info on zillow.com. Zillow has greatly improved on its update rate and it's easy to use until you are ready to commit to an agent.

You can do neighbourhood comp for the recent sale prices at zillow.com
Find the neighbourhood of interest and enter it at zollow.com homepage. In this case, do "palo alto, ca". Click on local info tab and choose first option, Palo Alto Overview. You will be presented with Palo Alto Local Informaiton page. Click on "Palo Alto Home Values" right above a chart or select "Home Values" on the left menu to get to the chart of interest. Scroll down the page to choose the neighbourhoods you are looking for. Manuela Ave is commonly referred to as Palo Alto Hills. Do a little digging to find out what zillow calls it.
Just did a quick search on MLS and the home is still available for sale. Do you research and good luck!

Dear Ira,
There are services that can provide "automated" value, but they may not be too accurate. Another alternative is requesting a local appraiser to give you a "drive-by" independent evaluation. Finally, a local appraiser may give you the comps in the hope to garner your business as your agent in the purchase.

Contact your agent and request them. If you don't have an agent request comps from a local agent. Don't expect them for free and offer to pay for them.
