I changed lenders do I get my documents back?

I changed lenders due to some misinformation about the loan they could provide.  Can I get my documents back from them?  If not, I am thinking there is some federal law that is in place to protect my information.

Thanks

Thank you both very much.  They only have copies of my documents, so all is good on that end..

They have to retain the information if they pulled your credit so they can make a copy package and give you originals back. Your information is protected along with all their other files, just shows withdrawn instead of a closed loan.

Just ask for them. And next time, give the lender photocopies or scans :)
