Or use alternative tradelines and add them to your credit report and then have it rescored. This is a common practice that produces positive results quite often.
Perhaps you could discuss this with a loan officer that is in your sphere of influence and discuss it with them.

you first need to go get secured credit cards and go to your local bank and get credit...start there and check back.
if you house is unsafe or not livable you have rights against your landlord.

Hi Gramstired, it can certainly be frustrating when the credit bureaus mix your credit with someone else. I remember when I bought my first home, they had "me" owing Sears 25K in Kansas City and 15K in California. Since at the time I had never lived at either place, I got it fixed, but it took a few months, and was not fun. You should find a great lender that offers free credit repair and rapid rescoring. Hopefully, they can help you build your credit scores and get you on your way to a new home. Good luck. Jim
