I agree with the other agents here do not over extend yourself buying a home should be a pleasureable experience and living with a payment that is comfortable to you is key. The payment will always be there even should you not have the income. So take your time and think through your goals and make sure it fits within your plans also ask your agent for their advice.

Whatever you do, don't over-extend yourself.  Stay within your comfortable payment amount.  A 10K difference in loan amount shouldn't make that big a difference in monthly payment but that's subject to each person's situation.

It is very likely they will be able to bump it, so ask them, but for a back up, remember that you don't have to offer what they are asking.  Get your Realtor to give you advice on that too.

Good luck,

Naima

You can asked them and see but if you can't go any higher, try making the seller an offer based on what you can afford. Meaning, just offer 10k less than they are asking. All they can do is say no. One thing to keep in mind, you don't want to get into a situation where you can't perform by the terms of the contract. So be certain you can either get the loan for enough to cover the purchase or that the seller will take less in order to get the home sold. You never know until you asked. Thank you for your question.
