I had my condo listed as a short sale and had a buyer but FHA denied me for a ATP.

FHA required I show a monthly defecit with expenses based on gross income. How is this fair when taxes and other mandatory deductions are taken? I tried to list taxes and social security, etc. as other expenses but my realtor said we can't do that. She is an experienced short sales agent but seemed surprised by having to report gross income as well.  Does anyone else have experience with this?

I have assisted in many short sales, and all the financial reports are very similar, income and expenses are listed.  If you are experiencing a financial hardship the deficit will show, if your hardship is not financial that will show up too.

I've done numerous short sales, including FHA.  I always list those expenses on the financial sheet.  You do need to put your gross income down, but then add your other monthly taxes below.
