How does one boost a credit score?   The answer is that you need to get some understanding why your credit score is low and take actions around those areas.

Some possibilities is that in the past you've been late paying debts, or skipped paying altogether.  Or, perhaps you have a very short credit history.  Or, perhaps the amount of money you've borrowed vs available credit is too high.    There are many other possibilities, and without knowing the cause it isn't possible to speculate on what is needed to raise your credit score.

You get a gold star for recognizing this (along with saving a downpayment) is the right thing to do before house shopping.
