Were you not served with the notice of foreclosure? There should have been a date which the auction would take place (assuming your state handles it in that way). In Minnesota the notice of sheriffs auction has to be published 6 weeks prior to the auction. You may need to call the county sheriff, or as Michael points out the public trustee or assessors office for info.

Call the county assessor's office, or possibly the public trustee. Different states handle their forclosures a little differently. Sorry to hear of the hardship. Have you talked with the lender about a loan modification?
