You may release the claim of ownership for a property by following these steps:

1. Go to http://www.zillow.com.
2. Login with youre-mail address and password.
3. Go to the homedetails page of the property.
4. Click on the"claimed this home" link, then the "release ownership"link and you will be directed to the "release claimed ownership" page.

Are you walking away from the home for financial reasons and just want to let it go to foreclosure? If so, there is nothing wrong with walking away however since your name is on the loan papers as well as title, you are still financially responsible. You can't relinquish title because no one, including the bank will take it. Banks are not in the business to hold properties.

If you are still employed and can hold on a little longer, please do. New foreclosure measures are on the horizon.
