I just had one last night as we sat down for dinner time! It was dark outside and he was wearing a reflection vest. I really felt sorry for the guy...
We didn't answer the door (were eating) and he came back 20 minutes later! UUGG!
I have on average 2 a week!

I've been able to somewhat alleviate this with a 'no soliciting' sign, but I do question how many of these salespeople even know what 'no soliciting' means... I understand people need to make a buck but I just don't like door-to-door sales.
Fortunately my neighbors and I are good about keeping an eye on each others properties.

As a marketer, I can guess that it is the economy. Advertisers are finding it easier to hire door to door and with the cost of postage through the roof and the no call list limiting phone solicitations, small business has turned to a proven method to get their product in front of consumers.

I don't have an answer for you but I too am unnerved by the amount of door to door sales. It really bothers me seeing kids out at night going door to door selling candy bars. Just doesn't seem safe to me. I don't know where they come from but I know they aren't in our school district. I wonder if all the suburbs get this. I have to constantly tell my boys not to answer the door...you never know if at some point there could be a thief or kidnapper come using that as a cover. Curious too if anyone has an answer to this question.

I have noticed a lot of door to door why?
