What's poor credit to you? Do you have a BK? Foreclosure? High debt? Low income? Down payment? There are many variables to consider.  Given some extenuating circumstances we can still get you an FHA with a LOW score, but that is with extenuating circumstances.

The easy answer here is yes, with many factors coming into play. I think your best bit is to list a quote request here on Zillow, and avail yourself of some great professional lenders here, all bidding for your business. Many, including our firm, offer free credit repair and rapid rescoring, so you may not qualify today, but if your credit scores go up high enough after the repair, you may qualify easily! I hope this helps. Jim

You can still purchase a home with poor credit.  Owner financing is the most popular, but you must find a seller willing to finance the property.

Check out www.mortgagecreditproblems.com.  It's a site for people who are interested in buying a house with bad credit.  There's a lot of articles there, some actually pretty decent, and the whole site is dedicated to people who are trying to get mortgages for people with bad credit.  A little salesy, but they also allow you to compare lenders who are interested in folks with less than perfect credit scores.  It's for bad credit new home loans as well as bad credit refinance loans.  There are also a bunch of books on the topic...

It all depends on how "poor" your credit is.
