Hi Jakerobb,
We do offer homeowners who have claimed their home on Zillow the ability to comment on their Zestimates. These comments could certainly include appraisal figures. They would not, however, factor directly into the Zestimate calculation but could provide a more complete(accurate) picture of your home's valuation.
And when it comes to accuracy of your home's information and of our Zestimates, it's always a great idea to ensure the data we have on your home is correct.
Thanks for using Zillow!

It wouldn't be difficult to put in safeguards against fraud. Any appraisal amount that didn't fall within some reasonable percentage of Zillow's value could be flagged for review and might require the homeowner to submit the appraisal report.
Obviously it wouldn't be perfect, but it's not perfect now.
Besides, what would the benefit be of artificially inflating the value on Zillow? It's not like mortgage lenders don't demand appraisals anyway.
Maybe another way to do it would be to have licensed appraisers that partner with Zillow and report their findings with every appraisal they do.

Can you imagine if consumers actually had that ability? Over night everyones "appraised" value would double on Zillow!
I just had my home appraised. Can I help Zillow by providing the data?
