I need rec. for an agent in woodbridge, nj

Profile picture for ibcrewin
Hi,
I am using an agent to search a few towns over. I want to use a local agent with more knowledge of local comps. When I asked him to recommend someone there he said he can show me places there. I don't think that's his area of expertise though. What should I do? Does anybody have a rec. for a local realtor that knows Woodbridge, NJ?

Dear Ibcrewin,

I would recommend Jill Mason. While I don't know her personally, she appears to be very knowledgeable of the area..

While most Realtors will request a referral fee (usually 25%) for such a referral, I make it  practice not do so with the expectation that he/she will refer me business in the future.

Please do advise your current agent that you prefer to work with local agents and be sure that you have not signed "Buyers Agency Agreement" with your current agent and this could cause issues bt agencies. Call/email me if want details on how to deal with this

Please be sure that you advise your  current agent that you prefer to use local agent to meet your needs as this not uncommon and will guide is in our followup efforts.

Love and Peace,
Franceca, Realtor, ePro

If you want to find a Realtor that you know has the experience you need, you should locate one by referral.  If you have no one in your circle of friends or family in the area that can recommend someone who is a top selling or listing agent, try a free referral service.  They have the connections to find the best Realtors in the local offices and you will not have to rely on a sales pitch or guesswork.

You can do a search via Google, or even Zillow, for Woodbridge, NJ real estate agents. I could recommend one but that's just so I can get a 30%referral. Search and read info online about agents. Then interview a couple via email then on the phone. It sounds like you've been searching for awhile so you have a good knowledge base to work from. The key is to trust your agent and to get along with your agent. There are many good and hungry ones around to provide you a great experience. If you have me or any other agent recommend someone make sure we did the leg work to research for you that's what we're getting paid for...not to just go through a list and pick the first one who gets back to us.
