I paid off my car loan, and credit cards this week. How long will it take for to improve score?

The car loan shows paid as agreed but that i still owe 9,000. The credit card says it's over it's limit. What gives?

Paying off an installment auto loan will not impact your score and unless your credit card balances were over 50% of the credit limits, you may not see that much improvement in your scores. If you did this in preparation of refinancing or purchasing your lender should have been able to do a "What if...scenario to see what effect your actions would have on your scores. You can still have them do it as credit bureau's are not likely to have taken any action yet. This could be done before a rapid rescore.

Most companies post credit information every 30 days. You can call all the credit reporting agencies to get assistance in updating your score. They will be quite helpful.

It can take up to 60 days for them to show paid off on your credit report. Usually it will show up within 30 days.

Your score is a snapshot in time so, as long as you didn't have any lates your score should improve as soon as those debts are showing paid.

If you need something more quickly, your lender can do a "rapid rescore". You get something from the creditor showing those accounts are paid off and your lender submits that to the credit agencies and then pulls a new credit score. Cost will usually be @ $35 per trade line per credit agency.

Hope this helps.
